Whether you are looking from the pilot’s cockpit, taxiing along the airfield, or approaching a remote grass runway, AliveGrass adds detail where you notice it most — close to the ground. Vegetation automatically follows your camera in cockpit, external, and free view modes. No individual airport parameter adjustment is required. Seasons and Weather AliveGrass gradually responds to simulator data: date, hemisphere, approximate regional climate, and surface conditions. Fresh green fields change to warm, dormant vegetation as seasonal conditions shift. Wet weather and snow-covered plants add variety, and wind movement gives surrounding vegetation a sense of life. Snow appearance depends on simulated surface conditions; low temperatures alone are not enough to guarantee snow cover. Seasonal changes, snow accumulation, and thawing occur gradually. Coverage and Performance During exploration, vegetation surrounds your camera in streams. Coverage zone settings determine the radius of the surrounding space: more detailed geometry is nearby, and simpler vegetation is farther away. Density and coverage depend on terrain relief, available landscape data, and your chosen settings. A radius of 5000 meters does not mean uniformly dense grass throughout this area, and in some situations, transitions between individual patches or detail levels may be visible. Performance depends on hardware, landscape, weather, and vegetation settings. Adjustable parameters for coverage, filling remote areas, and plant budget allow balancing visual detail with performance. Higher settings increase rendering and memory requirements.
